The Midwestern University Arizona College of Optometry (AZCOPT) is a new college of optometry and has applied for pre-accreditation status of preliminary approval from the Accreditation Council on Optometric Association (ACOE) of the American Optometric Association (AOA), 243 N. Lindbergh Blvd., St. Louis, MO 63141-7881 (www.theacoe.org). A decision from the ACOE is pending. Once the program is approved, the college will launch recruitment and admission of students for the inaugural class to begin study in Fall 2009.
