In a day that found me whizzing on
campus in either, this direction or that, nearly 170 students graduated from Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine and roughly, 120 from the College of Health Sciences.
The College of Health Sciences graduated the students from physical therapy, occupational therapy, biomedical sciences and clinical psychology programs.
And it could not have been a more proud moment for me. I saw several of the friends I made in these students walk onto stage and for many be called "Dr." for the first time. Officially.
It's weird for me, especially because it was just years ago that I fitted them all for their white coats. The white coats that each were formally coated with in the fall of their first year at Midwestern University at the White Coat Ceremony. For some, it was just two years ago in the graduates of the Master of Biomedical Sciences Program, but it is the group of medical students who received the honor four years ago; that astonishes me.
I mean, look how fast the time flies? Well, for the party planner it is. Preparing for this day is no easy task, in fact, details are still worked on in the very last moments the day before the ceremony in the rehearsal for the faculty who participate in the ceremony.
All in all, it was a joyous day. The sun was out and shining. I got to each lunch, which is rarity compared to last year.
