Demolition Time on DG Campus

From my office located in one of the oldest buildings on campus, the brick and mortar of Prabhu Hall are being crushed into small scattered debris on the Downers Grove Campus.

Prabhu Hall, named after a basic science faculty member in 2005, was home to the Gross Anatomy Lab, among faculty offices and research labs. In July 2011, those occupants moved into Science Hall, the new five-story building housing all of the Basic Sciences program faculty and the new College of Dental Medicine.

In Prabhu Hall's place, the plans and suggestions are to include more faculty offices, classrooms, & lecture space to keep up with the growth on the campus.

But in the meanwhile, we have the lovely sounds of demolition occuring on a building that existed on the campus when Midwestern University purchased the property in 1986.

Prabhu Hall was one of the last three original buildings on the Downers Grove Campus when purchased from George Williams College. The lone buildings still standing is Haspel/Hambrick Hall, The Commons, and Centennial Hall.
