Monday, August 2nd marked the first day of orientation activities for the first-year students of the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine (CCOM). About 200 men and women are set to begin their journey in medical school in less than a week as class is set to begin on Monday, August 9th.
My exposure with orientation activities is very limited; in that my colleague and I fit all first-year students for their white coat. Each student receives a white coat during the annual White Coat Ceremony held each fall. During orientation, we advise the students on selecting the correct size of coat and ordering the coats to ensure delivery before the ceremony.
Today, I snuck in to listed to Dr. G's welcome to the CCOM students. Dr.G is the President & CEO of Midwestern. She introduced her administrative team along with the faculty and staff of the dean's office during her welcome.
