Centers for Disease Control and Prevention CDC
The CDC offers useful health and safety information on a variety of topics.Food and Drug Administration
CDER is provided by the US Department of Health and Human Services. CDER contains valuable information on food, drugs, medical devices, vaccines, cosmetics, radiation, and tobacco products.
FDA, US Food and Drug Administration
The FDA is responsible for protecting the public health by assuring the safety, efficacy and security of human and veterinary drugs, biological products, medical devices, America's food supply, cosmetics, and products that emit radiation.
Institute for Safe Medication Practices
The Institute for Safe Medication Practices (ISMP) is a nonprofit organization that works closely with healthcare practitioners and institutions, regulatory agencies, professional organizations and the pharmaceutical industry to provide education about adverse drug events and their prevention. The Institute provides an independent review of medication errors that have been voluntarily submitted by practitioners to the Medication Errors Reporting Program (MERP) operated by the United States Pharmacopeia (USP) in the USA. Two important sections on medication safety, such as dosing errors, include Hazard Alerts and Textbook Errata.
LactMed
LactMed is a service of the National Library of Medicine. It contains over 500 drug specific records on drug levels in breast milk.
Merck Manual
The Merck Manual includes an online medical library for health care professionals. Under the Clinical Pharmacology section, subjects include adverse drug reactions, pharmacodynamics, pharmacokinetics and concepts in pharmacotherapy.
NCCAM, National Center for Complementary & Alternative Medicine
