MWU takes pride in assisting its students as they prepare to leave our institution whether it is due to graduation, withdrawal, or transfer to another institution. We emphasize the importance for you to make arrangements to repay your student loans. Repaying your student loan(s) establishes your financial independence and credit history. Since institutional student loan programs are revolving loan funds, repaying your loans will highly benefit future students in need of additional funding.

MWU Loan Repayment Office is in contact with ECSI on a daily basis. Should you have questions regarding your billing or a problem with your payment schedule, please contact our Loan Repayment Office.
Prior to your exit interview, ECSI will send you a notification including your PIN number and how to access your online account (do not use your federal aid PIN number). If you do not receive your PIN number you can contact ECSI at 1-888-549-3274 or you can contact our Loan Repayment Office at 630-515-6353 to request your PIN. You can access your online account 24/7 to view your statement, make payments, update your information, and much more.
It is your responsibility to promptly notify MWU or ECSI when there is a change in name, address, or contact information. Keeping your information current is crucial because it is used for repayment, deferments, cancellations, 1098-E, and other important notifications you must receive.
You are expected to begin repayment on any student loan(s) you have borrowed after the grace period ends. Not all loans have a grace period so you are expected to begin repayment on those loans immediately.

Forbearance is a temporary postponement of your payments during which interest accrues.
The interest that accrues during forbearance can be paid on a monthly basis or at the end of the forbearance. We highly recommend you pay the accrued interest on a monthly basis to avoid having to pay a large lump sum at the end of the forbearance.
Forbearance may be granted when you are experiencing financial hardship, poor health, or other acceptable reasons. You may alternatively request an extension of time allowed for making payments or the acceptance of smaller payments than were previously scheduled.
A deferment is a temporary postponement of your payments in which interest does not accrue.
Deferments are granted for specific situations, such as enrollment in school, unemployment, or economic hardship.
