Postdoctoral Programs: Emergency Medicine/Family Medicine
Osteopathic Medicine in Downers Grove
This program is designed to meet the requirements for Board certification from both the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians and the American Board of Osteopathic Emergency Medicine. The length of the FM-EM integrated residency program is five years. Participants are considered residents in both Department of Family Medicine and Department of Emergency Medicine.
The OGME-1 year consists of required rotations. Beginning in the second year, the curriculum is as follows:

Continuity of Care Clinics
Continuity of care clinics begin in PGY1 year at the outpatient Family Medicine clinic. Residents alternate three months of Family Medicine with three months of Emergency Medicine each year of the program. Residents maintain one half-day Family Medicine clinic per week when on EM and two ER shifts per month when on FM, including three half-day clinics on Family Medicine service and one half-day clinic on Emergency Medicine service.
