Office of Experiential Education (OEE)
The OEE cultivates dedicated and proficient student pharmacists by providing high quality pharmacy practice experiences.
The Midwestern University College of Pharmacy, Glendale, Office of Experiential Education (OEE) manages the placement of students on both Introductory Pharmacy Practice Experiences (IPPE) and Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experiences (APPE). OEE creates and manages rotation schedules, provides support to students during rotations, and develops sites and preceptors. Experiential education comprises approximately 1/3 of the entire pharmacy curriculum and is vital to the successful development of the student pharmacist.

Preceptors choose to host students at their practice site for a variety of reasons. Some want a fresh perspective that a student pharmacist brings, others are seeking creative ways to expand their patient care services. Other preceptors are excited to expand their professional networks by getting to know potential future colleagues. The non-material benefits to precepting are many, and precepting pharmacists report higher levels of job and career satisfaction over non-precepting pharmacists.
