Greetings
from the Dean
Chicago College of Pharmacy's highest priority is on teaching
and learning. The College faculty are focused on developing and offering
a Doctor of Pharmacy curriculum that enables students to prepare for
long and successful careers as pharmacists. Faculty are available
to meet with students, mentor students, and enable them to master
course content, develop communications skills, and learn team building
skills. These skills will facilitate a life time of providing patient
care and working with other members of the health care team.
The curriculum includes a well integrated collection of lecture
courses, workshops, and laboratories as well as experiential rotations
in a variety of pharmacy practice settings. Courses are taught by
experienced and knowledgeable faculty. Together, the faculty, staff,
and administration of the College are wholly committed to providing
high quality pharmacy education.

Instructional
Programs
CCP's Pharm.D. program provides students with enhanced experiences
in the biomedical, pharmaceutical, and clinical sciences. The program
requires six years of coursework, the first two years at another
college and the last four years at CCP. The College has three paths
leading to the Pharm. D. degree:
- Students will be enrolled in the full-time traditional Pharm.D.
with the start of the first professional year.
- Students who are registered pharmacists and have a valid U.S.
or Canadian pharmacist license can apply to the Nontraditional
Pharm.D. Program. This is a self-paced, largely self-instructional,
flexibly scheduled program in which a part-time student can complete
degree requirements over approximately two to four years.
