Financial Aid
The Office of Student Financial Services at Midwestern University
is here to help you navigate the complexities of the financial aid
process. We will work closely with you to create a financial aid
package that best meets your circumstances and your needs. Nearly
90% of MWU students receive some type of financial aid, and we are
committed to providing user-friendly services so that you do not
need to worry about how you will finance your professional education.
We will also offer personal assistance and additional resources
so that you can make informed decisions about managing your finances.
Midwestern University administers federal, state, and private sources
of financial aid. All students seeking financial aid must meet general
eligibility requirements regarding citizenship, financial need,
and satisfactory academic progress. Our financial packages may include
several sources of aid, including work study, scholarships, grants,
and loans.
Midwestern University is also a lender for all graduate programs,
offering its own loan programs, which include the Federal Subsidized
and Unsubsidized Stafford Loans and a private Signature loan. We
have been ranked as one of the top ten student financial aid lenders
in the nation, and we believe our services and products are some
of the most competitive among health professions universities. We
have secured the services of Sallie Mae, the nation's leading source
of servicing support for education loans, to provide lifelong loan
servicing for all of our students throughout the entire repayment
period. This is most advantageous, as your loans will not be sold
to a third-party servicing company. In addition to the Federal Stafford
Loan program and Signature loan program, the University also offers
the Federal Perkins Loan and Primary Care Loan.
Once you have been accepted into our University, have returned
a signed matriculation agreement, and have submitted your matriculation
deposit, we will send you a complete Financial Aid packet in the
mail. This packet will contain instructions for on-line applications
as well as a checklist of required documents. We will also give
you access to an advanced section of our web site, where you can
begin to apply for financial aid on-line.
You may call the Office of Student Financial Services at either
campus if you have any questions. Financial aid counseling can be
completed by walk-in or by scheduling an appointment with the office.
Our office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
