Graduation and Licensure: College of Dental Medicine

Graduation Requirements
The degree Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) is granted to, and conferred upon candidates who have satisfied all academic requirements including those related to ethical and professional standards; and who have have satisfied all financial obligations to Midwestern University, after recommendation of the Dean and approval of the President. A minimum of 44 months must elapse between the date of matriculation and graduation. All graduating students are expected to attend the ceremony at which the degree is conferred, unless excused by the Dean and the President.

Licensure Requirements
Licensure requirements necessitate graduates to pass Parts I and Parts II of the NBDE (National Board of Dental Examinations) as well as passing the RLB (Regional License Board) exams of the region in which they intend to practice. There are four (4) regions across the United States.The Midwestern University College of Dental Medicine reserves the right to require passage of National Board Examinations Parts I and II at certain points in the curriculum.
