Upon graduation from the College of Veterinary Medicine, the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (D.V.M.) degree is granted. The length of the course of study for the program is four academic years. The curriculum consists of 2 2/3 years (8 academic quarters) of primarily didactic and preclinical instruction with clinical introductory experiences followed by 1 1/3 years (5 academic quarters) of primarily clinical experiences and rotations including applicable didactic material. Upon graduation with the D.V.M. degree, the graduate is eligible to take licensure examinations to enter veterinary practice or participate in post-graduate training in advanced fields of veterinary medicine.
