With their armored bodies, muscular tails, and powerful jaws, American alligators typically rule the swamps and rivers of the Southeastern United States. But the tale of one of these reptiles rescued by Phoenix Herpetological Society (PHS) is much different. Join people from all walks of life at the West Valley Step Out: Walk to Fight Diabetes on Saturday, September 26 at Midwestern University (MWU). This fifth annual twilight event is hosted by MWU in partnership with the American Diabetes Association, with proceeds supporting the ADA’s mission: to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes. Last year’s event at MWU raised more than $107,000 and attracted 991 participants, and organizers hope to surpass both these numbers this year.Registration begins at 4:30 PM, with a start time of 6:00 PM.
