Established in 1964, Riverside HealthCare serves the south suburban counties of Chicago as a not-for-profit medical facility. Riverside currently has two medical campuses located in Kankakee and Bourbonnais.

Riverside Medical Center, a 336-bed hospital that provides a full scope of inpatient and outpatient care is sited on the Kankakee Campus. The Emergency Department is designated as a Level II Trauma Center and a Resource Hospital by the Illinois Department of Public Health. Kankakee is also home to Riverside's senior living community, which offers active independent living, assisted living, 24-hour skilled nursing care and Alzheimer's care.

Riverside is nationally recognized for its specialty programs in heart care, obstetrics, trauma, oncology, rehabilitation, geriatrics, occupational health, alcohol and chemical dependency treatment, and psychiatric services. For its heart and oncology programs, Riverside partners with Rush University Medical Center in Chicago.

Riverside HealthCare's Bourbonnais Campus features the Betty Burch Bridgewater Center for Radiation Therapy, an imaging center, the Women's Diagnostic Center, an outpatient surgery center, a medically based wellness center, and physician offices. Riverside Community Health Centers offer complete family care in nine communities throughout the southern suburbs of Chicago.
