IL: Midwestern University Welcomes New Students

In early June, Midwestern University began welcoming future healthcare professionals to its Downers Grove, IL and Glendale, AZ campuses. The students come from all over the country, from Maine to Washington, ready to begin their graduate studies at Midwestern University.

During Orientation Week, new students learn about the campus, meet their fellow classmates, and participate in a "taking care of business" day to get IDs, parking passes, mailbox keys, and other necessities for life as MWU students. They also participate in workshops and other programming designed to create class unity. The students are welcomed to campus by Kathleen H. Goeppinger, Ph.D., President and CEO of the University.

The Downers Grove Campus welcomed 133 new students in the following programs:

Doctor of Physical Therapy (D.P.T.)
48 PT Students (30 F/18 M)
71% from IL

Physician Assistant Studies (Master of Medical Science)
85 students (12 M/73 F)

The Glendale Campus welcomed 244 students in the following programs:

Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm. D.)
134 students (67 M/67 F)

Physician Assistant Studies (Master of Medical Science)
87 students (26 M/61 F)

23 students (14 M/9 F)

Mean age = 31

Additional orientation activities will take place later this summer for students in other health science programs including osteopathic medicine, occupational therapy, and biomedical science.
