Students from a variety of health care programs celebrated the beginning of their professional careers at a fall commencement ceremony on Friday, September 5th on the Downers Grove Campus of Midwestern University.

A total of 158 students graduated from the University with the following degrees: Doctor of Pharmacy, Doctor of Psychology, and Master of Medical Science in Physician Assistant Studies. All three degrees represent the start of a bright future in health care. According to the U.S. Department of Labor, the demand for well-trained pharmacists, psychologists, and physician assistants is expected to increase faster than average between now and 2016.

At the ceremony, Kathleen H. Goeppinger, Ph.D., President and CEO of the University, addressed the graduates, their families, and their friends. She cited many of the community projects, health fairs, medical mission trips, and other activities the graduates participated in during their time as students at Midwestern University. "I'm really excited about the classes that are graduating today," Dr. Goeppinger said. "They have had to work extremely hard to get to where they are today. I want to thank them for coming to Midwestern University and being such and important part of our community."
