A total of 154 students will graduate from the University with a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree and their professional expertise is likely to be sought after even during the current economic slowdown. According to the U.S. Department of Labor, the demand for well-trained pharmacists is expected to increase faster than average for all occupations between now and 2018. An increase in the numbers of middle-aged and elderly people - who use more prescription drugs than younger people - will continue to spur demand for pharmacists. In addition, the need for pharmacists will continue to expand as scientific advances lead to new drug products and as an increasing number of people obtain prescription drug coverage.
The Chicago College of Pharmacy is one of three colleges on the Downers Grove Campus of Midwestern University. The College aims to educate and graduate competent, compassionate, and motivated pharmacists who will provide pharmaceutical care in a wide range of community and institutional settings.
