Mr. Gunn teaches students in Midwestern's PA Program to provide a broad range of healthcare services. Physician assistants conduct physical exams, diagnose and treat illnesses, order and interpret tests, counsel on preventive health care, assist in surgery, give medical orders and write prescriptions while working under the supervision of a physician.
Mr. Gunn graduated from Midwestern University in 2006 and has been a member of the faculty since 2009. In 2010, he was appointed chairperson of the PA Admissions Committee and then reappointed in 2011. He reviewed nearly 1,300 applications from the Central Application Service for Physician Assistants and helped to guide the committee in the selection of the new class of students. In addition to his teaching accomplishments, Mr. Gunn has made great strides in research and scholarship, producing conference presentations and an article in Laryngoscope, the official journal of the American Laryngological, Rhinological and Otological Society. He is also member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, the Illinois Academy of Physician Assistants, and the Society of Physician Assistants in Otorhinolaryngology/Head & Neck Surgery.
