July 15, 2008

by Jill Blair-Smith

Midwestern University (MWU) recently tapped 25-year Downers Grove resident, Barb Wysocki to lead its Office of Development and Alumni Relations. Ms. Wysocki brings a proven record of leadership, fundraising, and marketing to her new role as Director of Development and Alumni Relations for MWU at the Downers Grove Campus, 555 31st Street. As Director, she will develop fundraising initiatives, facilitate alumni programs, and create additional strategies to engage potential donor constituencies. She will also work with key administrators to position the University positively within the greater DuPage County area. Since March 2007, Ms. Wysocki has served MWU as the Senior Development Officer.

"I'm proud to be a part of the Midwestern University team," said Ms. Wysocki. "This is an exciting time at the University as we continue to grow to meet the health care needs of the 21st century. Ever since Midwestern University moved to Downers Grove, I've been impressed by both its history as one of the oldest osteopathic medical colleges and its ability to add new degree programs in pharmacy and the health sciences," she said. "I'm looking forward to working on behalf of Midwestern University to build even stronger relationships with alumni, business leaders, and the community."

Ms. Wysocki is active in the Downers Grove community and has provided leadership and managerial talents to several local organizations. She holds a B.S. in Education from Drake University.
