Daren Wannamaker, D.O., FACOI is a general internist and works as a hospitalist for IN Compass, Inc. at a number of hospitals in Georgia and South Carolina
Dr. Wannamaker is the Internal Medicine clerkship director at the Georgia Campus of Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He is an Associate Professor of Internal Medicine at GA-PCOM, where he was named the 2007 Clinical Instructor of the Year, and is the Internal Medicine club advisor. He also holds academic appointments as a Clinical Instructor at the Medical College of Georgia and Lincoln Memorial University DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Dr. Wannamaker graduated from the University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1992 (now named Kansas City of Medicine and Biosciences). His internal medicine internship was at Pontiac Osteopathic Hospital. He completed his internal medicine residency training at Sun Coast Hospital in Largo Florida, where he was named Resident Instructor of the Year.
He currently is a clinical education evaluator for the American Osteopathic Association's Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation (COCA), serves on the American College of Osteopathic Internists' Clinical practice committee, is a member of the American College of Osteopathic Internists' Hospitalist specialty interest group, and was a member of a standard-setting panel for the performance evaluation/clinical skills examination component of the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners Comprehensive Osteopathic Medical Licensing Examination (COMLEX-USA Level 2-PE).
