James Binkerd, DO completed his osteopathic medical training at the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1984 and a Rotating Internship at Normandy Osteopathic Hospitals in St. Louis Missouri in 1985. He practiced Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine in Santa Cruz California from 1985 -1998. He was board certified in 1994 by the American Osteopathic Board of Special Proficiency in Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine. In August of 1998 he joined the faculty of Touro University and is currently Associate Professor, Vice-chair of the Department of Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine, and Assistant Dean and Director of Academic Support.
Dr. Binkerd was a member of the Board of Directors of the Cranial Academy from 2001 to 2007. He has been the Chair of the Cranial Academy Education Committee since 2002 and he currently serves on their Credentials Committee.
In addition to his interest in Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment in health and disease, Dr. Binkerd's other interests include student assessment techniques, academic support of students at academic risk, and student promotions.
