Admissions, Alumni, and More

Probably like most prospective applicants to health care programs, any insight I have into health care has been gleaned from my own personal experiences. So, for whatever it is worth, here are a few things I learned this week when I took my cat to the vet and myself to the dentist.

On Friday, September 14, MWU's Glendale Campus held its annual Faculty/Staff Recognition Dinner at the Wigwam Resort. Members of the MWU Board of Trustees were in attendance to honor faculty and staff for their service anniversaries. Dr. G also presented the prestigious Littlejohn Awards.

I hope everyone had a wonderful, safe, and long Labor Day holiday weekend. If you live in Arizona, you know we have another month or longer of heat in this record-breaking sweltering summer. So, this past weekend, I packed up the dogs and headed north to Flagstaff. This blog entry is one of my periodic "things to do around campus" reviews.

Over the past two weeks, we have held student orientations at both of our campuses. While these events include a lot of information for the new students to absorb, they also provide opportunities for them to meet their faculty and classmates who they will share their academic life with over the next several years.

Yesterday, Midwestern University helds its fourth annual "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" alumni event at the Arizona Diamondbacks vs Chicago Cubs game at Chase Field in Phoenix. More than 150 alumni, faculty, and students attended the popular event. And, for the fourth time in a row, the Cubs lost the game.
