Since this is vacation time for many with the Fourth of July holiday approach, I thought it would be a good time to post a few movie reviews. I see a lot of movies, and I have fairly wide-ranging tastes (though I lean toward independent films). So, for whatever they are worth, here are my reviews of Away From Her, Ocean's 13, Knocked Up, Sicko, Evening, and A Mighty Heart.

Every year, my family asks me if I have the summer off since I work at a school. While I wish that were true, summer is actually a very busy time at MWU's campuses. We have students taking courses (PA, PT, NA), and others who are conducting elective research projects. Faculty are able to devote more time to their research and mentoring as well as updating their lecture materials. Staff are busy closing out the previous year and getting ready for the next one.

On Friday June 15, the MWU Office of Development & Alumni Relations on the Downers Grove Campus hosted the third annual MWU Golf Classic. More than 100 golfers joined us for a hot but fun day on the links. All proceeds from the event are used to support student scholarships.

This week, MWU's Glendale Campus celebrated the retirement of the foundation dean of the Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine, James W. Cole, D.O. Alumni, students, faculty, staff, and family joined Dr. Cole and his wife Beth for a special party honoring his 11 years as the dean. I'm honored to count Jim as a good friend, and he will be sincerely missed by everyone on campus.
