The beginning of the calendar year gives us a good snapshot of our admissions cycle for summer or fall enrollment. Deadlines for many of our programs have already passed, while applications are still being accepted for our programs with rolling admissions. For all of our programs, the best advice I can give you is this: APPLY EARLY! This is the best way to ensure that your application file gets full and complete consideration in the process, and that you will be as competitive as possible for admission. And, overall, Midwestern University's applications continue to increase each year.

I have watched ER since it started, and, in the early years, it was my favorite show. I always enjoyed the variety of characters: Dr. Ross, Nurse Hathaway, Dr. Green, Dr. Benton, and we got to see Dr. Carter go from a medical student to an attending. What I think characterizes this show is that the health providers truly seem to care about the lives of their patients.

I assume everyone has watched an episode or two of Grey's Anatomy, as it is one of the most highly watched shows on television this year. If you are like most of my friends, you are likely addicted and have your most favorite and least favorite characters. What seems most compelling about this show are the relationships, although the medical story lines are also interesting.

I have always loved medical and hospital-based television shows. Growing up, I watched St. Elsewhere and the original ER. It seems like now there is a reinvigoration of quality medical TV shows. So, I've decided to devote this week's blogs to some current shows. Today, I'll tackle House.
