Admissions, Alumni, and More

If you are like me, you love social networking media. You find old and new friends on Facebook, you Tweet, you post comments to blog sites and bulletin boards, and the list goes on. I just reminisced with my college friends about the macaroni and cheese we used to cook in our hot pots in the dorms. Yes, I know I'm dating myself, but you take my point.

For the fifth or sixth year in a row (we've lost count), the Cubs have lost to the Diamondbacks at the annual Midwestern University Alumni Baseball Outing at Chase Field in Phoenix by a score of 7 to 2.

On a beautiful Saturday in late March, nearly 100 people gathered on our Glendale Campus for the first--and hopefully annual--Alumni Homecoming Celebration. The day featured information for the adults, games for the kids, and plenty of opportunities for alumni to reconnect with the University and their friends new and old.

For 10 years, MWU's Glendale Campus has been hosting a special event designed to help kids with cancer. The annual Cuts for Kids event allows students and others from the community to get a free haircut and donate their hair to Locks of Love, which in turn makes wigs for children with medical hair loss.

The Downers Grove Campus hosted 100 high school students during spring break as part of the 2009 Health Sciences Day. This popular program drew students from all over the Chicagoland area. Most students were juniors and seniors in high school who were taking advanced science classes.
