The Arizona College of Podiatric Medicine hosted two successful Podiatry Immersion Programs on July 8th and August 12th. Open to both current undergraduate students and recent college graduates, participating students got an in-depth look at the career by immersing themselves in a ‘day in the life’ of a podiatric medicine student.
Over the course of the two events, participants from Arizona and California toured the Midwestern University campus and spent extra time in the podiatric medicine classrooms, laboratories, and clinic. They participated in several hands-on laboratory activities, such as a lower extremity anatomy dissection lab, below-the-knee casting, and the surgical fixation of sawbones. These interactive workshops gave participants a better idea of what life is like for students at the Arizona College of Podiatric Medicine.
Additionally, participants attended a seminar on the admissions process and preparing for podiatry school and partook in a panel discussion with 15 current Arizona College of Podiatric Medicine students.
