    Midwestern University’s Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine (CCOM) recently earned a top spot on the U.S. News and World Report ranking of Best Medical Schools in the practice area of primary care. The Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine ranked 17th on the list that evaluated medical schools based on faculty resources, the academic achievement of entering students, qualitative assessments by schools and residency directors, and the proportion of graduates practicing primary care medicine.

    Students from the College of Pharmacy, Downers Grove celebrated the beginning of their professional careers with a virtual commencement ceremony on Thursday, March 4, 2021, and had the option to participate in a special convocation the following week. A total of 171 students received a Doctor of Pharmacy Degree (Pharm.D.) and will begin their professional pharmacy careers or participate in postgraduate residency programs.

    On Wednesday, March 3rd, Midwestern University virtually hosted 73 of the country’s top high school students for the 22nd Annual Arizona Regional Brain Bee, an educational competition similar to a spelling bee that focuses on neuroscience. The 2021 Arizona Regional Brain Bee at Midwestern University was presented in partnership with the BHHS Legacy Foundation.

    Midwestern University in cooperation with Delta Dental of Illinois is pleased to announce the establishment of a new scholarship fund intended to foster student body diversity and extend opportunities for healthcare students from underrepresented minority groups. Two $50,000 scholarships will be awarded annually to eligible students of the University’s College of Dental Medicine-Illinois.

The virtual event was organized by students in the Clinical Psychology Program and sponsored by the College of Health Sciences, the Office of Student Services, and the Clinical Psychology Program.
