Health Psychology
Dr. Jansen's research interests center around health psychology, human sexuality, and integrated care.
Primary research interests include the evaluation of communication between medical patients and providers, as well as examining how we teach communication skills to medical students, as well as those in other healthcare related fields. We know that effective communication enhances both patient outcomes as well as patient satisfaction, however, the most effective methods to teach and build communication skills in healthcare training programs are not well studied or implemented.
Additional research interests address human sexuality. Specific projects include examining the relationships between individual’s sexual preferences and personality traits as well as individuals with diverse sexual preferences and orientation's experiences in the healthcare system.
