Nathan Nakken, D.O., M.S. is a clinical assistant professor of Osteopathic Community Medicine at Midwestern University in the Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine. He received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree at Rocky Vista University, in Parker, Colorado where he was selected for the prestigious Harold Ives Magoun, Jr. D.O., FAAO, FCA Memorial Undergraduate Osteopathic Principles & Practices Teaching Fellowship. He also completed a master’s degree in Physiology and Biological Development from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. He completed postgraduate training in Family Medicine at Blessing Hospital and Southern Illinois University Center for Family Medicine in Quincy, Illinois as well as a second residency in Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine at Midwestern University, Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine in Glendale, Arizona. Before joining the faculty at Midwestern University, Dr. Nakken taught Osteopathic Principles and Practices at Rocky Vista University as an undergraduate, physiology at Brigham Young University and Utah Valley University, and biology at Salt Lake Community College.

1. Using OMT to manage clinical conditions such as Thoracic Outlet syndrome, Plagiocephaly, Gastrointestinal Dysmotility in Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome, and Crohn's. 

2. Educational research on effective teaching modalities, how to better increase learning and recall in less time, implementation of AV resources into Medical school curriculum such as producing a video library of almost 200 OMT videos and PE videos to enhance student learning. 

3. Quality improvement research projects in the clinical setting such as implementing Greenman's exercises into patient handouts for use in the clinical setting.
