This facility includes a main gym, strength training/cardio area, aerobics room, craft room, music room, racquetball court, game room, plus locker rooms.  At this time there are no scheduled fitness classes or intramural sports.  Check the Weekly Bulletin for updates.

Staying Connected

Gymnasium
One full basketball court (also used for indoor soccer).  A divider curtain can be lowered for: 2 short basketball courts, 2 volleyball courts, 2 dodgeball courts, 2 pickleball courts or 2 badminton courts.

Strength Training/Cardio Area
An assortment of selectorized weight equipment stations by Cybex.  Cardio Equipment by TRUE Fitness that  includes: treadmills, recumbent bikes, upright bikes, water rowers, and stairclimbers.  Medicine balls are available as well.

Racquetball
There is one racquetball court available, which may also be used for handball. The court may be used for one hour at a time. Currently, it is operating on a first come; first served basis.  No equipment check-out available at this time.

Aerobics Room 
With a mirrored wall, these items available in the Aerobics Room are a good addition to your workout:

  • Mats for doing floor exercises and stretches
  • Dumbbells 2lb - 10lb
  • Stability Balls in a variety of sizes
  • Spin Bikes
  • Jump ropes and exercise tubes/bands
  • Heavy Bag - gloves can be checked out at the desk
  • Bosu Balls
  • Ballet Barre
  • TV/VCR/DVD Player for use with exercise videos/dvd’s
  • PiYo and Insanity DVD’s available for check-out
  •  Yoga Blocks and Stretching Bands

Fitness Classes also take place in the Aerobic Room.  They vary by quarter, but below are some of our popular ones:

  • Spinning
  • Total Body
  • Cardio KickBoxing
  • Zumba
  • Power Yoga 
  • Vinyasa Yoga
  • Mindfulness Meditation (in the Music Room)

Occasionally, we'll have a class, such as yoga, happening outside.

Craft Room (Rm 104)
The multi-purpose Craft Room is set with tables and chairs, and includes a sink, craft supplies, a book swap, magazines, card games and puzzles. Sewing machines are available for check-out.  Craft programs are offered throughout the year:

  • Basketcases
  • Watercolors
  • Knitting/Quilting
  • Kid-friendly crafts
  • Seasonal crafts for students and employees

Music Room (Rm 103 A)
This unique room includes two pianos and is available on a first-come-first-served basis.  We have a weekly Music Makers class for families with little ones (6 mo - 4 yrs-older children welcome) on Fridays.

Game Room (Rm 105 C)
This newly added amenity allows students and employees to have some fun with a game of ping pong.  There are two tables and some seating around the room.  At this time, there is a max of 8 participants allowed in the room at one time.

Outdoor Sand Volleyball Court & Basketball Court
Located just South of the Wellness & Recreation Center.  Currently, this is operating on a first come; first served basis and social distancing is required.  Please stick to smaller groups.

Lactation Room (Rm 102)
Here is a private space for nursing/pumping mothers that is equipped with a refrigerator, rocking chair, small table and binder.  Please sign-in and sign-out.  There is a sink outside the room in the craft room for easy access.

Extras

Locker Rooms 
Locker rental for the academic year begins in August (Summer registration begins end of May).  August-May locker rental is $30; Summer Quarter is $10.  You supply your own lock.  There are also four lockers in both locker rooms that are available for daily use only.  **Locker rentals are currently suspended; however, daily locker use is permitted - update 10/22/20.

Intramural Sports

Offered year round, we have a wide variety of intramural sports available to help you break a sweat and socialize with students from your program, as well as the other programs on campus. Sports vary by season and include:

  • Flag Football
  • Badminton
  • Pickleball
  • Frisbee Golf
  • Outdoor Soccer
  • Racquetball
  • Sand Volleyball
  • 6-on-6 Volleyball
  • Dodgeball
  • Futsal
  • 3-on-3 Basketball

Registration is done on-line through the Student/Employee Portal.  Every player will get a shirt for registering.  Intramural Champion T-shirts will also be provided to the champions of each league.  An email is sent out each quarter with all information for registration.

Federal Work Study Positions 
Positions available include: Desk Monitor, Intramural Sports-Coordinator, Official, and Scorekeeper, Fitness Class/Special Interest Class Instructors.  Previous experience preferred but not necessary.  If interested, please first confirm your Federal Work Study eligibility with the Office of Student Financial Services and then contact Bonnie Wheeler.
