Lab Resources

The Olson Lab is located in the Foothills Science Research Center at Midwestern University.

Major resources include:
1. A dedicated area for molecular procedures (immuno staining and in situ hybridization) to stain thin tissue sections.
2. Leica CM1860 cryostat that is available for use by the Midwestern University research community.
3. Insulated sound isolation boxes with rubber-coated cages, forced air ventilation, timed lights and microphones. Audio recordings are made with Behringer ECM8000 microphones fed with phantom power that plug into an eight-channel preamp. This interfaces with a PC dedicated to the recording and storage of audio files, installed with Sound Analysis Pro, and other audio analysis software.
