Graduation Registration Site
As an eligible candidate for graduation, you will be requested to complete a graduation registration form on your online student portal. You will continue to have access to the registration form on your online homepage until the given deadline.
Graduation Registration is REQUIRED
- To assure that your name is correct on your DIPLOMA
- To assure that your name and hometown are listed correctly on the COMMENCEMENT PROGRAM
Name changes can be requested online. Name change documentation is required by the Registrar's office for first and last name changes. Requests will be approved as soon as documentation is received. Changing middle initials to full names does not require documentation. Students who plan to change their name (marriage/divorce/court order) just prior to/or just after graduation, and who wish to have their diploma printed with the NEW NAME should indicate that in the comments box. Only LEGAL NAMES can be used.
CAP, GOWN & HOOD ORDER
Our graduation regalia vendor is Herff Jones. Please note that Midwestern University purchases your regalia, however, it is up to you to place your individual order. Herff Jones will ship your regalia directly to the address that you provide. The regalia items will be yours to keep. The Herff Jones site will be closed after the deadline; if you do not order your regalia by that date you will not have these items at graduation and will not be allowed to walk with your class.

Graduation announcements can be ordered from any of the following approved vendors:
Frames may be ordered from Matthews Bookstore www.mwugbooks.com. Allow two weeks for orders to arrive. They may be picked up in the bookstore or shipped directly to your address (shipping charges apply).
GRADUATION CLEARANCE CHECKLIST
This document lists all of the items that must be cleared prior to graduation in order to receive your diploma and final transcript. The registrar's office will be notified the week of graduation if there are any outstanding clearance items that have not been completed and "holds" will be placed on your diploma and transcript until the item(s) has been cleared. Please do not call the Registrar's office regarding these items; we will not have information about clearance until the day of graduation. Beginning the Monday before graduation, you will receive daily clearance notification in your student email account for any item not cleared. You will also be able to view your grad clearance status on your student portal.
Please make note of the information at the bottom of the clearance checklist regarding ordering FINAL OFFICIAL transcripts. Transcript requests and any other documents required for credentialing can be sent to the Registrar's office at any time. We will hold the forms and send them out after your graduation, unless otherwise indicated on the form. You will receive a release notice e-mail, sent to your MWU student email account, when these items have been mailed.
Graduate Hometown Press Releases
Graduates may elect to prepare (up to two) hometown press releases to be e-mailed from the Office of Communications to the community news outlets of your choice. Select the applicable form from the list below. Complete the fields by replacing the default text with your own and save file as a .doc file.
