The following academic policies apply to all students who matriculate during the academic year of this catalog publication. These policies will apply throughout the entire time a student is enrolled in the college. In the event that these policies need to be revised as the result of new accreditation requirements, mandates by the United States Department of Education, or other unforeseen circumstances, students will be notified in writing prior to the effective date of the new policy.
Faculty and students should also refer to the University Academic Policy section for additional policies that apply to all students at Midwestern University.
Good academic standing is achieved by maintaining an annual GPA of at least 2.000. If a student's GPA drops below a 2.000 at the end of any quarter during the academic year and/or if the student earns a grade of "F" in one or more courses, the student is placed on academic probation. A student on academic warning or academic probation is not considered to be in good academic standing. To return to good academic standing, a student must pass the failed courses and incur no further failures.
CDMI students must rank in the top 75% of their class to be eligible to engage in leadership roles and research activities (internal or external to the College), as well as to be able to attend conferences and other elective events that interfere with curriculum time and potentially impede academic progress.
