Course Failure Policy

College of Dental Medicine-Illinois

The faculty provides didactic programs and measures student performance in subject areas deemed necessary for dental practitioners. Students who do not demonstrate sufficient academic progress assume the obligation and responsibility to make up academic failures. First-year students must successfully pass all failed courses before they can be promoted to the second year. DMD-2, DMD-3, and DMD-4 students must remediate/repeat any failed courses, usually within the first month of the subsequent quarter.
