The University recognizes that employees who suffer from a disability as recognized under the law may be entitled to a reasonable accommodation that will enable them to perform the essential functions of the job. Employees who believe they are entitled to such an accommodation should consult with their manager and the Assistant Director of Human Resources. Such requests will be considered on a case-by-case basis and consistent with applicable state and federal law. The University may request documentation from an employee’s treating medical provider substantiating the existence of a medical condition and need for the requested accommodation. The University will engage in an interactive process with the employee in an effort to identify a reasonable accommodation that will enable an employee to perform the essential job functions without creating an undue hardship on Midwestern University. Requests for accommodations will be treated as strictly confidential and any medical documentation shared with Midwestern University will be maintained in a separate file.
