The Chicago College of Pharmacy assigns a faculty mentor to students in each entering class whose role is to assist with academic and nonacademic concerns. In addition to these faculty, staff in the College Office of the Dean and the Dean of Students, as well as other faculty members and staff, are also available to assist students with academic advising, counseling, professional enrichment activities, and nonacademic problems. Students are assigned a faculty selected from the College faculty. Students will likely have the same throughout their academic careers.
During orientation, mentors meet their new students in groups of approximately 10 students. These groups may serve as the workshop groups for courses within the curriculum. Faculty act as liaisons between the faculty and students. Their responsibilities include:
