RESEARCH SUMMARY

I have an interest in orthopedics and have been involved with classifying conditions of the hip according to the framework for the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF).  Colleagues and I have addressed conservative treatment options for osteoarthritis of the hip, which was published in the Topics in Geriatric Rehabilitation. With a background in education I have an interest in finding the benefits of interprofessional education in a team-based learning environment.

RESEARCH

Project I:  Determine the effect of interprofessional collaborative learning within a course designed for two disciplines in health care.

Project II: Revising and updating guidelines for Hip Pain and Mobility Deficits-Hip Osteoarthritis: Clinical Practice Guidelines linked to the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health, from the Orthopaedic Section of the American Physical Therapy Association. Journal of Orthopaedic & Sports Physical Therapy. Anticipated publication in 2017-18.

Project III:  Determine the effects on learning and success in the classroom using self-assessment tools
