Research Interests

My professional interests and scholarly endeavors have centered on occupation-focused approaches for evaluation and intervention for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.  I have studied the ways in which collaborative approaches enhance the schoolwork / occupational performance of children with autism in school settings.  I also have an extensive history of working with infants, children and adults who experience sensory processing disorders.  My current scholarship and service work centers on adults with intellectual disability who live in intentional, faith-based community, and exploring the ways in which spirituality is practiced and lived by these individuals.  I am in the process of editing a textbook on occupational therapy for adults with intellectual disability.
