Chemdex, created by the Chemistry Department at the University of Sheffield, England, provides links to all disciplines of chemistry, chemistry software, journals, companies, world-wide university chemistry departments and many other chemistry related topics.

ChemExper Chemical Directory (CCD)
CCD is a commercial database which currently lists more than 100,000 chemicals. One can search by molecular formulas, IUPAC names, common names, CAS numbers, catalogue numbers, substructures or physical characteristics. Note that information is provided by chemical suppliers. is the official site of the American Chemical Society (ACS). Information provided on this site includes news headlines, career information, meetings, patent watch and the periodic table.

Chemistry Preprint
The Chemistry Preprint Server (CPS) is a major new initiative for the chemistry community, powered by It is a freely available and permanent web archive and distribution medium for research articles in the field of chemistry.

Protein Data Bank (PDB)
PDB site, managed by Rutgers and the University of California-San Diego and funded by several government agencies, provides a single worldwide repository for the processing and distribution of a 3-D biological macromolecular structure data. The PDB is provided by the Research Collaboratory for Structural Bioinformatics (RCSB).

TOXNET is an integrated system of toxicology and environmental health databases that are available free on the web. TOXNET is provided by the National Library of Medicine. Some of the databases within TOXNET include ChemIDplus, TOXLINE, and GENE-TOX.

Web Elements is one of the most up-to-date and complete periodic tables on the Web. A click on any element leads users to a comprehensive data information about that element.
