RESEARCH SUMMARY

Dr. Cuellar's research aims to understand the role of cortical sensorimotor integration during speech and swallowing.  Dr. Cuellar is also interested in understanding how sensorimotor integration may facilitate higher order cognitive and language processing.  The long term goal of Dr. Cuellar's research is to develop more effective assessment and treatment methods for individuals with cognitive-communication and swallowing impairments.  

Dr. Cuellar conducts her research through the Electrophysiology Lab at the Midwestern University Speech-Language Institute. Current research projects are investigating:
