Careers in Pharmacy Summer Program for High School Students

Nancy Fjortoft, Ph.D., Dean and Professor

This month, Chicago College of Pharmacy hosted 35 high school students for a week-long Careers in Pharmacy Program. This program is in its 16th year and has been generously supported by Walgreens. Students are introduced to pharmacy and all the many career options the profession has to offer. Students had a terrific time learning about managing disease states such as asthma, over-the-counter drugs, and prescription processing. Several faculty taught in the program and spoke highly of the students’ professionalism and intellectual curiosity. Planning has begun for the summer of 2017 and details for next year's program will be announced by next spring at: www.midwestern.edu/careersinpharmacy.
