Many of our students and faculty attend the annual American Society for Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) Clinical Mid-year Meeting in early December. At this meeting faculty give podium and poster presentations, participate in committee meetings, work with their colleagues to establish policy and advocate for the profession. Many third- and fourth-year students attend the meeting to begin exploring residency positions and to present their scientific posters. This year we had 60 students present posters, which recognizes our students who work closely with their faculty mentors on research throughout the year We are so proud of each and every one of them. Presenting your research as a student at a national meeting is truly a distinction.

One of our faculty, Dr. Mary Ann Kliethermes (pictured right), Professor and Vice Chair, Pharmacy Practice, received the ASHP Board of Directors' Distinguished Leadership Award. This award recognized Dr. Kliethermes' lifetime dedication to the profession of pharmacy, her outstanding patient care, and her commitment to leadership. She has personally mentored hundreds of young pharmacists who are now providing exemplary patient care and making a positive impact on their practice setting. We are so proud of Dr. Kliethermes.
