AZ: Midwestern University Names Associate Dean for New Veterinary College

Dr. Brian Sidaway, Associate Dean, Midwestern University College of Veterinary MedicineKathleen H. Goeppinger, Ph.D., President and Chief Executive Officer, Midwestern University, is pleased to announce the appointment of Brian K. Sidaway, D.V.M., M.S., DACVS, as Associate Dean, Midwestern University College of Veterinary Medicine, on the Glendale campus.

"We are very pleased that Dr. Sidaway has joined Midwestern University as we continue to proceed with the strategic development of our College of Veterinary Medicine," said Dr. Goeppinger. 

Dr. Sidaway, a native of Biloxi, Mississippi, is a former Director of the Arizona Veterinary Medical Association and has fourteen years of veterinary practice and education experience across five states.  Most recently, Dr. Sidaway practiced as a veterinary surgeon in Louisiana, where he also acted as a pro-bono consultant and surgeon at the Audubon Zoo in New Orleans.  He received his undergraduate and graduate degrees from Mississippi State University.

Dr. Sidaway is the first appointed faculty for Midwestern University's new Veterinary Medicine program, announced in March of this year, which will welcome its inaugural class of 100 students in the Fall of 2014. The Midwestern University College of Veterinary Medicine will be the first and only school offering the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (D.V.M.) degree in the state of Arizona.
