How to Know Where to Go: Emergent, Urgent, and Primary Care Explained
Presented by Michelle Mifflin, D.O., Director, Health Outreach through Medicine and Education
Assistant Professor, Midwestern University Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine

Emergency rooms, once a last resort for patients seeking urgent medical attention, are now widely used for even the most common illness. With additional options such as urgent care clinics now available to consumers, patients may not be aware of the best healthcare option for their symptoms. Dr. Mifflin will explain the difference between urgent, emergent, and primary care, and describe what kind of care can be expected at each location. She will also delve into which locations are most appropriate for common conditions that cause individuals to seek out medical care, and how to reduce inappropriate emergency room use.
