The Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine (CCOM) on the Downers Grove Campus of Midwestern University recently held a special event to celebrate CCOM's founding father. Students and faculty members gathered for a 150th birthday celebration in honor of John Martin Littlejohn, Ph.D., D.O., M.D.  Dr. Littlejohn established the American College of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery in 1900, which later became the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine.

As part of the celebration, Spencer Cooperman, MS-IV, portrayed Dr. Littlejohn and answered a series of questions posed by Kurt Heinking, D.O., Department Chair, Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine. The questions focused on Dr. Littlejohn's decision to form a college and the history of osteopathic medicine.
