Karen J. Nichols, D.O., M.A., MACOI, CS, Dean, Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine congratulates Jonathan Bardahl.

A student from Midwestern University's Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine (CCOM) was among the future leaders honored at the Osteopathic Medicine Conference and Exposition (OMED 2016) in Anaheim, California. Jonathan Bardahl, a fourth-year student at CCOM, received the American Osteopathic Association Presidential Memorial Leadership Award. This award honors and recognizes an osteopathic medical student who is committed to the principles of osteopathic medicine and has demonstrated exceptional leadership.

"Effective leaders begin their journey in osteopathic medical school, where they begin learning and sharing their talents with others. These award recipients are already demonstrating their commitment to playing a role in the osteopathic medical profession's continued growth," said Larry A. Wickless, D.O., President, American Osteopathic Foundation.

While a student at Midwestern University, Mr. Bardahl has published several research abstracts and has volunteered his time to multiple organizations, including the Student Osteopathic Medical Association and the Illinois Osteopathic Medical Society. He also served as Vice President of the Midwestern University Student Senate and earned the University's Spirit of Service Scholarship for his extensive community service.
