The Midwestern University Littlejohn Award winners for 2010 are (from left) Timothy Todd, Pharm.D., R.Ph., Dana Fay, and Susan Viselli, Ph.D.

Three new members were inducted into the Littlejohn Society at the annual Faculty and Staff Recognition Dinner for the Downers Grove Campus of Midwestern University (MWU). The Littlejohn Awards are named after the three brothers - John Martin, James Buchanan, and David - who, in 1900, established the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine, MWU's founding college. The awards are presented each year to one faculty member, one staff member, and one alumnus who best embody the qualities of service and commitment to the University.

Susan Viselli, Ph.D., received the faculty Littlejohn Award. As Professor of Biochemistry, Dr. Viselli currently teaches students in the osteopathic medicine, pharmacy, and physician assistant studies programs at Midwestern University and will also teach in the College of Dental Medicine - Illinois when it opens in 2011. Dr. Viselli is an active member of the campus community, serving as a Faculty Senator since 2002 and was elected Chair of the Midwestern University Faculty Senate in 2007, an office she continues to hold.

Dana Fay, a member of the University staff since 1997, received the staff Littlejohn Award. In her role as Director of Communication, Ms. Fay oversees the internal and external communications for both the Downers Grove, IL and Glendale, AZ campuses of Midwestern University. Ms. Fay manages all University communications including media relations, advertising, branding, publications, graphic design, and the University's Web site.

The alumni Littlejohn Award was presented to Timothy J. Todd, Pharm.D., R.Ph., an alumnus of MWU's Chicago College of Pharmacy. Currently, Dr. Todd is an Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice at Midwestern University and teaches pediatrics-focused courses to second- and third-year pharmacy students. Dr. Todd's clinical practice site is at the Ronald McDonald Children's Hospital of Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, IL, where he provides clinical pharmacy services to the general pediatrics and intermediate care units. In addition, Dr. Todd serves as a preceptor for pharmacy students.
