IL: Midwestern University Appoints Associate Dean for College of Graduate Studies

Kathleen H. Goeppinger, Ph.D., President and Chief Executive Officer, Midwestern University, is pleased to announce the promotion of Michael J. Fay, Ph.D., to Associate Dean, College of Graduate Studies, for Midwestern University's Downers Grove Campus.

Dr. Fay joined the Midwestern University faculty in the Pharmacology Department of the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1997 and became the Program Director for Biomedical Sciences in the College of Health Sciences in 2006. He was promoted to the rank of professor in 2011 and has mentored students at Midwestern University for more than 20 years. Dr. Fay has earned several National Institutes of Health Research grants, published his research findings in peer-reviewed publications, and presented his work at several national meetings. In addition, Dr. Fay has held numerous leadership positions in national organizations and at Midwestern University. For his contributions to the Midwestern community, Dr. Fay received the Littlejohn Award, the University's highest accolade for faculty, staff, and alumni, in 2013.

In his role as Associate Dean, Dr. Fay will work closely with Kyle Ramsey, Ph.D., Dean, College of Graduate Studies, to uphold academic excellence and support the faculty, staff, and students at Midwestern University.

Dr. Fay earned a Bachelor of Science degree in microbiology from the University of Maine; a Doctorate of Philosophy degree in pharmacology from the University of Mississippi; and completed a postdoctoral fellowship in endocrine physiology at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth College.
