Midwestern University is pleased to announce that Karen D. Johnson, Ph.D., Vice President of University Relations has been appointed ombudsperson for the University. As part of the Higher Learning Commission's (HLC) commitment to increasing transparency of its accreditation process, the HLC asked institutions of higher learning to select an official ombudsperson.

The Midwestern University ombudsperson will respond to inquiries from students and other institutional stakeholders regarding the University's policies and practices.

The HLC is a regional agency that accredits degree-granting institutions of higher education that are based in the 19-state North Central region of the United States. Institutions that the HLC accredits are evaluated against the Commission's Criteria for Accreditation, a set of standards that institutions must meet to receive and/or maintain accredited status.
