IL: Midwestern University Hosts Annual Groovin’ in the Grove Race

The annual Groovin’ in the Grove Run at Midwestern University attracts participants of all ages and abilities.

Kick off Mother's Day weekend by participating in the 30th annual "Groovin' in the Grove" 5K and 10K Race on Saturday, May 11, 2019, at Midwestern University, 555 31st Street, Downers Grove, IL. The 10K race is a new addition to the rain or shine family-friendly event with proceeds benefiting Sharing Connections, a local charity.

The race is designed for people of all ages, abilities, and fitness levels. Start time for the 5K and 10K Run/Walk is 9:45 am. Children, 10 years-old and younger, are also welcome to participate in separate events, which start at 9:00 am. In addition, the Warrior Fitness Challenge is available to participants 14 and older and can be added to the race registration for an additional fee. The Warrior Fitness Challenge will provide participants with a fitness score graded by military personnel on the results from a two-minute push-up test, a two-minute sit-up test, and time for the 5K race. Points are awarded based on performance and factor in age. Post-race activities include refreshments, a massage station, multiple joint and postural screening, and fun events for children.
